If, Like

If you could be so cool,
As the gut famous for tea,
The chronicles or the how-tos,
And the supper kind, too;
If you could be Charlie,
You could be, like, cool.

If you could get away with,
Singing songs about chemistry
Or a man called the Doctor,
You might be able to foster
As avid fans as can be,
You could a man and a myth.

If you could be yourself,
And be what you do best,
Often in the interests of others,
Your housemate or your mother,
Not to mention all the rest,
You could be something else.

If you could just be awesome,
I’m sure you already are,
You could be a hero
To some people who’ve got zero
Chance to go so far,
If you could see how far you’ve come.

If you could just see, Charlie,
How cool you came to be,
