A Quick Ending

In a matter of seconds
All could time end,
By some manner of danger
From which you cannot defend.
In the blink of an eye
We could be burned up in mist,
Eroded like stone,
Summarily dismissed,
Without a farewell,
With nothing to do,
No time for a last
I love you.
