Some Space

There’s some space between us,
A void I tried to fill
With digital messages
And empty phone calls
And all that remained
Was silence.

It is pitiable,
And it is life,
And it needs to change.

I can’t wait for a reply,
Watching a screen all day,
And I can’t listen
To your phone ring out,
And I can’t wait for you
To keep your promises.

So I won’t.
